Ilfracombe to Swansea is bigger than the English Channel and has only been swum a handful to times. This swim qualifies for the Original Triple Crown.
Starting in front of Verity, the huge Damien Hurst statue in Ilfracombe, we push out into 24 miles of open water. This is a true monster of a swim.
As we approach the Welsh coast the viscous Bristol Channel tides start to come into play, whipping us along the South Coast of Gower, swirling round headlands and bays. With all that mileage behind you, now is the time to fight with all your might for the right to stand on a Welsh beach and declare yourself a channel swimmer.
